Galih Johar born on July 8th, 1990 in Bantul. An artist who started his art studies at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Yogyakarta. The practice is much interested in local wisdom, material essence, nature, object politics, and social experience. Galih Johar often uses various media in his work, with a sense of fun, sarcasm, satire, irony and dark humour artistic choices. Galih Johar defines the objects around him, then mixed and matched with broken logic elements of these objects and wrapped in comedy. This practice makes him try out various possibilities and play with the value of an object he encounters. In this presentation, Galih do an expansion to his medium and creative methods. The photography he chose makes the continuity of Galih's work a new achievement, presenting and at the same time questioning how an artwork can be transformed in terms of dimensions and form.
